  1. haha somehow when I visit a city I always end up visiting a cemetery too. Old ones are beautiful ! It's really impressive to see how close to the cemetery the residential buildings are. It's an interesting contrast we can see in your pictures.

    1. me too! actually that was the thing i was seeking to capture in my pictures. the cemetery was like crushed between modern buildings.

  2. Mistäköhän se on peritynyt :) Upea tuo ylin kuva, tykkään siitä ihan valtavasti, hieno syvyysvaikutelma. Harmittaa, kun en koskaan postannut niitä Santiagon hautausmaan kuvia. Pitää kehittää joku hautausmaapostaus.

  3. What a splendid place! I know it sounds strange to say that about a cemetery, but I think I understand what you mean when you say you have a "thing" for them. They are powerful places, full of history in every possible sense. These photos are magnificent, Etta!
P.S. The cholera cemetery next to your childhood home sounds like a place I would love to visit. Is it near Turku then?

    1. thank you polly! it was a really inspiring place! the cholera cemetery is a very small yet nice place, if you sometime visit turku. it's at kalevantie (itäharju), here link to some video about it so you can see if you want to go or not. there are only like seven graves but i've heard there're a lot more bodies under the ground but the stones have been stolen... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kH97AjTKH-s
